The Social Impact of Your Clothes

Not only does fast fashion harm our environment, but it also has a large social impact on those who go through dangerous processes to create it. Cheap clothes don’t come free because along with many low quality synthetic materials, low wages and unsafe working conditions are the daily lives of many. Thousands of workers have been harmed because of the toxins and waste that are emitted regularly by these factories. 

But this doesn’t mean buying clothes is bad. As long as you know the brands you are buying from, many brands such as Patagonia have very modern and updated ethics. This is a testament that you can live a very fashionable life without having to fund the creation of harmful fast fashion.
