Problems Foster Youth Face

Youth exiting foster care have faced many challenges exiting the foster care system as they become older. As Orah is focusing on the foster care industry in this season, we hope to also raise awareness regarding the different types of issues foster care children/youth are facing. As foster youth prepare to leave the system, they face challenges such as unstable housing or homelessness, lack of adequate education, lack of employment and job training, problems with health and well being, lack of access to health care, justice system involvement, and lack of social connections.
