Fast fashion, while offering trendy clothing at low prices, has devastating environmental and social impacts as talked throughout our blog. As a result, this would prompt governments worldwide to take action. Measures such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) hold brands accountable for their products' entire lifecycle, encouraging sustainable design and waste reduction. Legislative efforts like France's laws on unsold clothing donations and strict waste management regulations aim to minimize textile waste. Additionally, governments are promoting sustainable practices through financial incentives for eco-friendly businesses and funding research into innovative materials. Our organization, alongside many others help educate the public about the consequences of fast fashion to help shoppers make informed choices. International collaboration and partnerships with NGOs further enhance accountability in the fashion supply chain. By implementing these strategies, it shows how governments and organizations are fostering a more sustainable fashion industry, and as consumers ourselves, we can support this shift by making mindful purchasing decisions and advocating for ethical practices.
